Head Versus Heart

The termite family consists of several million very busy termites and they work in an organized way and feed on cellulose; cellulose that causes their large family to grow even more.

This page will look at home inspection from an investment point of view rather than from an emotional point of view. A solid house should be made of long lasting and durable materials, regardless of whether it provides 'a good feeling' or whether you like the character. This not to say that your feelings about a particular home are not important, but ideally a balance of how the home makes you feel and how it is built should be maintained.

How Are the Elements Holding Up?

Metals should be treated against rust and corrosion. At the same time, the walls should have no cracks, the ceilings are intact and that the roof roof is in good shape. First thing that one should take note of is, what kinds of materials are used for the house. The next point of concern should be the water and electrical pipes. In a solid home there should be adequate and appropriate piping for the house to ensure your safety and comfort.
It is very important to have the electrical wiring checked to avoid leakage and faulty wiring hanging everywhere. At the same time, make sure that there are no broken pipes for the water system to avoid leakage and water loss, which can cause expansion and mold, among other things. There should also be adequate lighting and emergency stuffs in case of unexpected situations.

The Kitchen

One of the most important parts of the house to watch for potential problems is the kitchen. Since most of the electronic appliances will be kept there, the kitchen should have ample space for everything you need and it should be in the safest part of the house. Ideally, it should be in the rear of the house to maintain privacy and safety. But this is certainly not necessary to know you are living in a safe home.

Safety First

You should have easy access everywhere in the house. Ideally your rooms will be free of clutter so that easy access to exits is available. Keep in mind that you will want to feel safe, secure, peaceful, and comfortable in your home. This is what some describe as 'good vibes' or 'postive energy.' Remember that you can always feel something, like a sense of connection, if you are sure you have done everything in your power to make sure your home has been inspected to the best of your ability, and that you have taken the time to contact a professional home inspection company.
